Warranty and returns
What we guarantee, for how long, and what happens if something goes wrong — written plainly so you can hold us to it.

Repair guarantee
| Screens, ports, cameras, speakers, buttons | 3 months |
| Batteries | 6 months |
| Board-level / micro-soldering work | 3 months on the specific fault repaired |
| Software work | 1 month |
| Water-damage recovery and data recovery | Not guaranteed — see below |
The guarantee runs from the day you collect the device. If the same fault returns within the period, bring it back and we will re-do the repair at no charge and with no re-diagnostic fee. Keep your receipt or job sheet, or quote your booking reference — we can look it up either way.
What the guarantee does not cover
- New accidental damage. A fresh drop, crack, bend or crush after the repair is new damage, not a failed repair.
- Liquid damage after the repair. Opening a device unavoidably disturbs its water-resistant seals. We replace the adhesive gaskets, but no repaired device should be treated as waterproof.
- A different component failing later. If we replaced your screen and the charging port fails two months later, that is a separate repair.
- Work by someone else. If another shop opens the device after us, we cannot tell whose work caused what.
- Water-damage recovery. Corrosion can continue to spread weeks after a device has been cleaned and is working. Nobody can honestly guarantee this work, and we will not pretend otherwise. We tell you this before you commit.
Your statutory rights come first
Our guarantee is in addition to your legal rights, not instead of them. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015:
- A repair service must be performed with reasonable care and skill. If it is not, you can require us to do it again, or claim a price reduction.
- Any parts we supply must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If a part is faulty you have 30 days to reject it for a full refund, and up to six years to require a repair or replacement.
These rights are not affected by anything on this page or in our repair terms.
Devices you buy from us
Every phone, tablet and laptop we sell comes with a written warranty — usually 12 months on refurbished stock, 6 months on pre-owned, and the manufacturer warranty plus ours on new items. The exact period is stated on the product page and on your receipt.
Because we do not sell online, you buy in the shop having seen and handled the device. That means the 14-day distance-selling cancellation right does not apply — but if a device develops a fault:
- Within 30 days: you may reject it for a full refund.
- After 30 days and within 6 months: we will repair or replace it. If that is not possible, you get a refund. A fault appearing in this window is presumed to have been present at sale unless we can show otherwise.
- Up to 6 years: you may still have a claim if the device did not last as long as it reasonably should have, though we may take account of use.
Wear disclosed at the point of sale — a scratch we described, a stated battery health figure — is not a fault. That is exactly why we describe condition honestly rather than photographing everything at a flattering angle.
Accessories
Unopened accessories can be returned within 14 days with a receipt for a refund or exchange. Opened accessories can be exchanged if faulty, in line with your statutory rights. For hygiene reasons we cannot take back opened in-ear headphones unless they are faulty.
How to make a claim
Bring the device to the shop, or call us first if you would rather we posted you a returns label for a mail-in repair. Tell us what is happening and when it started. We will diagnose it free of charge and tell you honestly whether it is a warranty claim or new damage — and if it is a close call, we will explain our reasoning rather than just saying no.
If you disagree with our decision, ask for the manager, then put it in writing to info@mangofonerepair.co.uk. You can also contact Trading Standards via Citizens Advice on 0808 223 1133.
