What usually goes wrong

Cracked glass, display still working
On the standard iPad the glass digitiser is separate from the LCD, so a crack with a working picture is the cheaper of the two repairs. On iPad Air and Pro they are bonded together and the whole assembly is replaced.
Touch not responding in patches
Often a failed digitiser rather than software. Worth testing before you assume the tablet is finished — it is a common fault and a routine fix.
Battery down to a couple of hours
Tablet batteries are large and glued in, so it is a longer job than a phone, but a new cell restores a device that is otherwise perfectly capable.
Bent chassis after a drop
A bent frame stops a new screen sitting flat and lifting away later. We will tell you if yours needs straightening first rather than fitting a panel that will fail.

How long does an iPad screen repair take?

Usually a few hours rather than while you wait. The glass is bonded across a large area and the adhesive needs time to cure properly — rushing it is how a screen lifts at the corner a fortnight later. Book in the morning and it is normally ready the same day.

Is it cheaper to replace an old iPad than repair it?

Sometimes, and we will say so. On older iPad Pro models a bonded screen assembly can approach the value of the tablet. On a standard iPad it is almost always worth repairing. We give you the number first and you decide with no pressure.
